Call for Submissions! Wizard Tribute Mini-Magazine!

Photobucket

I was just brainstorming this idea with a friend, and with Wizard Magazine dying, I was thinking about throwing together a mini-comic tribute magazine for this years MoCCA. With Wizard being such a important figure in the development of many of this generation of comic book people, I think this could be a fun tribute/roast.

So, this is a call for submissions. Got a memory you want to share? Parody? Fan art?

This is something I think needs to be turned around quickly, so speed is of the essence, so feel free to keep it lo-fi and rough, but make sure it's enjoyable.

Thoughts?

Black&white, 3 pages max. Will probably be printed mini-comic size. Thinking of it in the tradition of the Coober-Skeeber Marvel Bankruptcy issue. All content must have some sort of Wizard-angle. Whether it's a strip, a pinup, or a parody of some sort. No holds barred, open to interpretation.

Deadline for now is Feb 21, but the sooner the better. Contact vitaminsteve@gmail.com if interested.

I'm building a Lego model of my house.

In theory.

I've wanted to take on a large Lego project for a while. But I wanted to do something a bit more creative than just buying a set and following the instructions. So I had this idea.

I'm building a copy of my house in Lego.

So, using Lego's official design software, I started with the second floor, since the scale of the whole project was decided by the brick pattern below the windows.

One of the key things about the official Lego software is that it calculates the cost of buying just the pieces you need from Lego.

The second floor: $212.

Yeah, I think this is going to be a virtual project for a while.

Update:

OK, so I got ahead of myself and finished it:

Sadly, it's $480.04

Anybody want to donate?

Pancakes & Bacon Custard.

Today's treat: Pancakes & Bacon Custard from the Shake Shack.

It was really a pancake flavored custard with bacon sprinkled on top. The custard didn't really taste like pancakes, but the bacon makes a great ice cream topping.

I guess bacon does go with everything.
